Human semi-tendinosus and gracilis with and without acute exercise nuclei atlas - hamstring tendon nuclei

Summary

A total of 18 nuclei clusters were identified from over 61K human hamstring tendon nuclei in the current atlas. Based on conserved marker genes, were assigned to seven major cell groups: immune (2 clusters), adipocyte, endothelial (2 clusters), smooth muscle (2 clusters), broblasts (4 clusters), satellite cells, and myonuclei (6 clusters including myotendinous junction).

Cell annotations based on integrated clustering of human tendon single-nucleus RNA-sequencing data using Seurat. Clusters were annotated using canonical marker gene expression and comparison with published single-cell datasets, with refinement of selected populations by subclustering to identify distinct tendon cell states.
